At the beginning of 2004, there were three fires which started in the
engine compartments of three of London Central articulated buses. A result
of which at the end of March all artics in London were withdrawn for modification
which took about two weeks.
Affected route were run by other buses some drawn in from other parts
of the country, even routemasters were used. Here we see Stagecoach 17234s
running route 453 at Oxford Circus.
