Historic Streetcars (Trams)


A line of streetcar at the terminus on Jones Street. Three of those on view are ex Milan cars, two in Orange as used in Milan when they were delivered to SF in 1998. One is painted in the 1928 Milan livery of yellow and white with black trim. The other is ex Philadelphia PCC car painted in Los Angeles Railways livery.

Built for Muni in 19143 car 130 was saved from scrap by being used as a wrecker. It was restored for the trolley festivals. Seen here on Market Street.

F line car 1059 Served Philadelphia 1948 to 1989. It was acquired by Muni in 1992. It is painted in the colour scheme for Pacific Electric (Southern California). Seen here at night on Market Street.

Another Philadelphia PCC car, 1060 is in the 1938 Philadelphia livery. Seen here passing Balboa Park station just after leaving the Baloba depot.

On Market Street is car 1811, the ex Milan car which carries the 1928 version of that city's livery.

Car 1050 is an ex Philadelphia PCC which carries the 1950s wings style San Francisco paint scheme.
