Published in the 1890's. W.T. Vincent was the editor of Kentish Independent for 23 years and 30 years as a reporter. The events leading up to the proposal for a steam ferry and the opening are covered. 
The Woolwich Story  E.F.F. Jefferson
Vincent's work ended in 1899 the year of the formation of the LCC. Jefferson's work continues from then until 1965 when the Metropolitan Borough of Woolwich merged with Greenwich and became The London Borough of Greenwich.
