Does anyone know about the cane shown on this page, it is 33
inches long with a silver top and brass bottom. It is inscribed 'Princess
Alice Sept 3rd 1878'
Apart from wondering if any were sold to raise funds for the memorials
I was also wondering if the Princess Alice was salvaged and the wood used
to make the cane or canes. It could have been made by special request by
one of the survivors. It seems strange that one would produce a number
of these to commemorate such a tragedy as the inscription would be a constant
reminder.
