Hackney Transport History


A line of Central Area RFs wait at the traffic lights in Wesgate Street, at the junction with Mare Street. RFs were used on route 236 as it had a number of low bridges.The Bridge in the background is on the line between Cambridge Heath and London Fields.

The 236 ran between Leyton and Finsbury Park Station, via Hackney, Dalston and Highbury.

The same place as the above photograph. This area was know as The Triangle, the junction of Mare Street and Westgate Street. The RFs were replace by single deck pay as you enter buses.
