Abbey Wood Station

A now classic car awaits outside Abbey Wood Station on a peaceful late summer Sunday afternoon. Features in the picture could only be seen in a preserved railway or a Hornby model. Booking Office, station canopy, Gate style level crossing with gate house and telegraph pole semaphore signal.

Another picture full of things collectors would love to lay their hands on including the totem style station name on the antiquater lamp post. At the station a four car suburban electric multiple unit is ready for the of on the down. The gaates are open and the signal says line clear. The headcode 61 denotes this train has come from Cannon Street via Blackheath and Woolwich.

Abbey Wood station again, this time on 14 September 1968. A heavy downfall of rain caused flooding both here and at Belvedere. See here for more pictures.
